HELLO WORLD

Submitted by signe on Fri, 06/19/2020 - 06:42

Due to the Covid-19 times artist and artspaces had change the way of international collaboration. SERDE became one of Hello World Participating Venue in the project led by  TransCultural Exchange from Boston, USA.

Below is a link to Hello World, an international project where artists throughout the world have submitted art works to share with all of us. We hope you enjoy this gesture of goodwill and solidarity from our colleagues around the globe. http://transculturalexchange.org/activities/hw/overview.htm

Also, if you haven’t already noticed, all the participating venues are listed here.

The list of participating artists is here.

The artworks are now online at https://transculturalexchange.org/activities/hw/projects.htm

On June 20, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm EST, we will have a simultaneous live ‘zoom’ launch party online. This will be something like those televised New Year’s celebrations around the World.

You, your patrons, friends and family can join in on the fun through our live streaming of the launch party on TransCultural Exchange’s Facebook page!

Also, to keep in mind: when we started Hello World in late March, we thought that the virus would be under control in a few months. Now, however, we realize that we were mistaken. It seems like COVID-19 will be with us for a while. We are happy then – thanks to you – that, during this period of prolonged social distancing and travel restrictions, we can provide the world with such a wonderful global showcase to help ease the isolation, loss and fear that many people are feeling as a result of the pandemic’s decrease in our usual sources of solace – the arts, a connection with others and the possibility of positive interactions with those outside our usual sphere.

Therefore, we also are hoping to generate interest through this celebratory event to raise a bit of funding to afford us to do a second ‘world tour’ like the one planned for June 20th. If we succeed in raising the funds – which we cannot promise in this economic climate – we would likely do a second tour during the next solstice in December. This second tour would focus on offering the global community a chance to become more acquainted with all the Hello World venues – your work – a bit like what we are doing with the June 20thlaunch for the artists. (To help us reach this goal, we now have a “Donate Here” button on the Hello World overview page and will make it more prominent before the launch.)  We will, of course, keep you posted.

Stay tuned. As we like to say, “A new world awaits.”

Hello World Simultaneous Launch will take place at these times around the world:

2020. gadā no 29. jūnija līdz 3. jūlijam SERDES rezidenču centrā Aizputē durvis vērs Novadpētniecības skola.

Submitted by signe on Sun, 05/24/2020 - 10:55

4. arhitektūras studentu plenērs Aizputē

AIZPUTES KOKA ARHITEKTŪRAS MANTOJUMS

Šogad no 28.
